I set up my d-link 4 port router/switch and i noticed my download speeds got cut in half...more than half actually..i took the router off of my setup and sure enough my speeds were back. i want to get a good NAT network going so my gf and I can get some good starcraft games going on battle.net and other possibilities. --by the way will a router/NAT setup work for online games like that? i know starcraft uses UDP packets i believe...
anyways, I want to have a networked connection, but if I have to lose half my download speed, then forget it. i have it disconnected as of this moment and i'm sending it back to best buy.
I need input on a better router/ or a software program i can download and use. Ping times are also VERY VERY important to me since i'm an avid online gamer of First person shooters so keep that consideration in mind when giving me alternate solutions!
thanks in advance
