    Default Motorola SEM V8 Help

    Hey All,
I am trying to put two channels on from a Motorola Astria to a SEM V8. The Astria has a GigE output and I have a GigE input on my SEM. When we tried the installation, through HITS, they said there was a conflict with both channels having the same UDP port. Each channel has its own multicast IP but they do come from the same port.
I am now considering inputting them into a Cherry Picker first.

Can you change the UDP port numbers so they aren't the same? That is a limitation of the SEM where each UDP port specified does need to be different.

For example, use 239.1.5.12 UDP port 1512 or 239.1.5.13 UDP port 1513, etc...

Hi guys, more than helping I have a question. Can the SEM V8 or V12 handle MPEG over IP inputs? If so is it a standard feature? or a product option?

Yes, the SEM can do MPEG-2 over IP multicast for broadcast video and MPEG-2 unicast for VoD.
