I'm currently using a Toshiba PCX2200 cable modem that I have been using for almost 4 years now. Just in the last 3 weeks I keep getting my signal dropped. I notice this most when I'm talking on our SunRocket VOIP service & when I'm doing lots of webpage surfing. I may not be on the phone but I may have 7 webpages open and surfing & then BAM it drops it's signal for about 1-2 minutes then I'm good to go again. I had TWC out yesterday to check the signals & frequency and everything checked out perfect. The technician said it is most likely Sun Rocket causing the problems because of there "Frequency" whatever that means? In 4 years of service with Adelphia I never had ANY problems. Should I purchase a new modem?![]()
May be a good idea anyhow since the Toshiba line of modems are outdated (Toshiba no longer makes or supports their cable modems) and even at that, their last model was the PCX2600 iirc.
Try and get yourself a hold of a Motorola Surfboard or a Sci-Atl Webstar if at all possible (latter will have to get through the cableco to get most likely.)
