For the last six weeks, the Comcast/Motorola DCX3400 DVR I have has been resetting itself multiple times a day. Mostly at night. During the day it does it randomly, but no one is usually watching then, so I'm not sure how much it does it. At night it will reset at exactly 1AM every night and then usually two more times after that about 10 minutes apart.
Every time the box resets, you have to wait 5-10 minutes before you can access the DVR again. On two occasions, the DVR and guide never came back after 12 hours and Comcast had to send out a signal to reset the box. Comcast's explanation is that some software update is not taking properly. This is obviously completely unacceptable. From a few minutes of internet searching, it is clear that this is probably affecting all of the DCX3400s in Northern California. Has anyone in Northern California heard anything from Comcast regarding this problem?
Ive been having the same problem, the cable guys say that their gonna have to change the box due software issues.
