I have a DCT 6416 III. It worked fine for a while.

The other day I went into the room and the display was off. Pushing the power button on the remote and the box did nothing.

The box was getting power though because I could hear sound possibly from the hd coming from it very quiet though maybe a fan.

I unplugged it for a few minutes plugged it back in and it worked for a while reseting about 2 or 3 times over 10 min period.

When I went to access on demand I got into the on demand screen when the whole box just shutoff no front display no picture.

I unplugged it. Then plugged it back in. It turned on reset about 3 times then the same thing except this time this happened in 5 minutes.

Today I did the "boot" then "n dl" thing. It downloaded the firmware then the front display turned off when I was out of the room. Pushing the power button did nothing. So I just unplugged it and replugged it now it is coming up with "e609" the something "hunt"

Why is this happening? And do I need to get a new box?

It is a box I got from Cox. It looked brand new when I picked it up at the local office.
