Thread: HR22-200 was installed

Just got an odd call from the person who recently installed my DirecTV service, last weekend. First, everything is working perfectly fine and I received all of the equipment that I ordered.

He said he needs to swap out on of my receivers because he was supposed to install the wrong one. The Receiver I ordered was an HD DVR, and a HR22-200 was installed (the HD DVR). He says he needs to swap it out with an H22 (which from my understanding is not a DVR?)

On a side note, to make matters worse, he asked when I was going to be home next, and I told him that I was at work and wouldn't be home for some time, to which he informed me that he had been waiting in my driveway for a while. Not sure why he would expect somebody to be home, but it kind of creeped me out nonetheless.

So, I guess my question is in regard to the H22 receiver. Can somebody confirm that the HR22 is the HD DVR and the H22 is the HD receiver (no DVR).

Maybe I'm totally wrong and the installer is right, but everything is running perfectly normal and I just have a feeling that this guy is trying to do something shady here.

The HR22 is a DVR. It sounds like the installer just made a mistake and put the wrong unit in your house. It's most likely legit and nothing to worry about.

However, you are clearly uncomfortable with the situation. If there is a little voice in your head telling you that something is amiss, by all means contact the company directly.
