    Default DVR 722 and external drive

    my dish 722 need to be replaced,and dishnetwork will ship me a new one tomorrow. i have about 300 hours of video saved on my external drive.so i was wondering if i'll be able use this drive with my new 722 receiver without reformatting, in other words : save my recordings. the tech from dishnetwork said that most likely i would have to format my drive , but think he didn't know for sure.
