Default laptop HDTV tuner with Mediacom?

    Hi,
I recently got a new laptop with a hybrid HDTV tuner so that I can record and burn TV content. I am trying to figure out how to use it. I have a Pace HD-PVR with my mediacom service. I hooked up the coax out on the Pace box to the RF coax cable jack on the side of my laptop and went through the setup. The setup was not very self explanatory, but looks like my choices for TV tuner are digital cable (QAM) or analog cable (NTSC). I tried setting it up for QAM but when the program scanned for channels, it only found 1. Same for NTSC.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Should I bypass the PVR completely? But then will I be able to access all my HD channels that I receive?

With that setup you should only be able to get picture on ch 3. And you won't get in in HD. You need to connect the coax directly to the tuner and it should be able to pick up all of the unencrypted digital channels (both in HD and in SD). These are mostly HD locals.

Getting all of your programming on the digital tuner is not an option (at least not yet).
