Comcast dvr issues

Hi I was just wondering I have a motorola hd duel tuner DVR... (umm 62xx series I think)

Some times the remote responds, some times it doesn't. can that be a sign of RF issues (theres no blocky pic, lines, or snow) or is that the remote or the dvr? is there anyway for me to narrow down between the 3 parts?
