    Default DVR cable box set to no Cable Company

    I have a Scientific Atlantic 8000 explorer, which seems to set to Bright House Cable. Is there a way to clear out the box and make open like a Tivo type unit?

    Nope, they don't work without communication with a Cable Co Head End.

    Not to mention, they aren't consumer purchasable, so this DVR belongs to Bright House Cable, and is not your to modify anyway.
