Set up is Humax 9200 - Panasonic DVDR - Panasonic LCD Television.
Roof mounted aerial is daisy-chained through in the same order and all has worked well for, say, three years.
Now, when switching on all units show 'no signal' on all multiplexes.
Checking all co-ax connections confirms nothing is loose but signal level is absolute zero.
However, if I withdraw the co-ax from the wall plate socket and replace it - Hey Presto! - signal strength 50%, signal quality 100% and everything is OK again for an evening's viewing.
At bedtime, television is switched off and other units put into standby.
Next day, nothing is disturbed but, at power-on, the same thing happens. No signal until I unplug and replug at the wall plate.
Sometimes this happens every day (once per day). Sometimes things are OK for 2-3 days before it happens again.
It seems to me that whatever is happening, it is happening at the Humax, which behaves as if it has no FM signal until I attract it's attention by unplugging and reinserting the co-ax at the wall plate.
Apart from the annoyance factor, the Humax has also failed to record programmes during the day because, presumably, it thinks that it has no aerial connected.
Anyone have any thoughts on what this might be?
Thanks in advance.
Do you have an aerial amplifier that is powered from the Humax? It may be that the Humax is shutting down the power for some reason, and reseating the connection resets it.
