Do any of you know of anything that can be done about the sound level increasing dramatically each time a commercial comes on?

Some stations are worse than others but some nearly blow me out of my chair each time a commercial comes on. It really gets old having to adjust the volume level with every commercial then adjusting it again when the commercial is over and the show I was watching returns. It's often easier to simply mute the volume during commercials, but that gets old as well.
