I get very low band width in peak hours (around 90 to 500 kbps depending on the night.) Last year when I was getting 60 to 200 tops in peak hours I got a hold of a "tier 3 tech" who admitted there was a problem with the area being overloaded. He told me that an upgrade/fix was coming. Believe it or not this actually did occur and for about 9 months I got 1k kbps or more in peak hours. By the way it took me about 9 calls to finally get to this tier 3 guy.
Now that school has come back I fear there are more internet users than ever and it is really bogged down again. I live in an apartment building so Time Warner pretty much has me by the balls (not sats allowed). I am writing this post mainly to warn anyone that can to avoid Road Runner in Akron, Ohio.
If your having issues with your broadband. Keep calling tech support about it and not give up. Posting on a forum for others to avoid RR. Will not fix the problem your having.
I'm not being mean or anything. Just saying posting about others not to get RR will fix your issue. Could be many reason your having problems with your broadband. Could be a simple node with heavy load at prime time.
I would try asking other people in your apartment building. See if they are having the same problem the time frame your having it.
